Research for socio-ecological transformation
Socio-ecological transformation is urgently needed. In particular, there is a need to develop scientifically based implementation knowledge that addresses practical and everyday issues and integrates knowledge from various scientific disciplines. This will enable the development of solutions that are relevant to practice and everyday life and therefore have a greater chance of being implemented without creating additional sustainability problems. Many developments in recent years and decades have shown that this is often still lacking.
Against this background, the goal of corsus research gUG, founded in 2023, is to develop transdisciplinary knowledge for implementing the urgently needed socio-ecological change. The focus is on research projects on
- municipal issues, in particular impact-oriented budgeting, municipal sustainability goals, and sustainability management at the municipal level;
- impulses for the implementation of corporate sustainability strategies, for example, innovative sustainability management and necessary change processes; and
- research on sustainable food systems, in particular in connection with municipal processes and necessary infrastructure.
The normative guideline for scientific work is provided by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, which were adopted by the international community in 2015.
