At corsus research gUG, we attach great importance to developing practical and everyday solutions for the socio-ecological transformation. To this end, it is essential that our research projects reflect not only practical and everyday perspectives, but also a variety of disciplinary backgrounds.

We have maintained this approach since the company was founded: Dr. Ulrike Eberle bases her research on a background in natural sciences and nutrition science, while Dr. Anke Butscher draws on a foundation in social sciences and economics.

Dr. Anke Butscher

Anke Butscher is managing partner at corsus and our expert on implementing sustainability at the organizational level (local authorities, public administration, companies, non-governmental organizations) and in supply chains. She is a social and economic scientist and wrote her doctoral thesis on corruption, clientelism, and elite transformation in Latin America. She moderates national and municipal sustainability projects, develops recommendations for action for socially responsible supply chains, and links risk minimization and corruption prevention.

Managing Partner

Dr. Ulrike Eberle

Ulrike Eberle is managing partner and our expert for sustainability strategies, sustainable product development, and sustainability assessment, particularly in the food sector. She is a biologist and chemist and holds a doctorate in home economics and food science. She leads large transdisciplinary research projects and advises the European Commission, national policymakers, many companies, and non-governmental organizations. She also heads the research department at the ZNU Center for Sustainable Corporate Management at Witten/Herdecke University and teaches sustainable nutrition at Kassel University and the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences. Ulrike Eberle is your contact for research on product assessment from an ecological, social, and techno-economic perspective, on impact assessment methods in life cycle assessment with a focus on biodiversity, and on how sustainable food systems and the food transition can be designed.
